Internal
fellowships are offered in the following areas:
Teaching
Fellowships:
The candidate will
engage diverse audiences and conduct various activities related to English
communication including: curriculum
design and development, facilitation of student lead projects, monitoring and
evaluation and more. Preference will be provided to individuals with a
post-graduate degree, international teaching experience or Hindi speaking
capabilities
Areas of
Focus: Speaking/Presentation skills,
reading comprehension and writing capacities
Communications/Marketing
Fellowships:
The candidate will
be responsible for creating and editing content for internal and external
publications including web content, marketing materials and other related
materials. This position will be
responsible for the creation, maintenance and quality control of communications
and brand messaging.
All initial
interviews will be held by Kristine with follow up interviews hosted by
Neelam. Prior to hiring communications
candidates, three writing samples will be requested and reviewed.
Preference will be
provided to individual with English or Communications backgrounds,
post-graduate completions, or individuals with Publisher or Dream Maker
experience.
Media/Graphic
Design Fellowship:
The candidate will
be responsible for assisting the media department through media strategy, media
management, NGO partner documentation related to promotional activities and the
monitoring and evaluation of the media database.
Deshpande Foundation
Research-Related Fellowships:
This
program will facilitate individuals desiring to conduct self-initiated projects
in support of the Deshpande Foundation, its partners and/or a local NGO for a
predetermined term up to 1 year.
Research topic is at the disposal of the researcher however, preference
will be provided to individuals addressing:

Cutting
edge issues/studies such as effectiveness of microfinance models, trends in the
labor market, and documentation narratives of activities in trends in region.
Sandbox Introduction Programs:
Program
is targeted at individuals interested in entrepreneurship and the social
development sector. This program will
begin one week prior to DD. During this
time, participants of the program will conduct village studies, attend DET
classes, stay with local families to further understanding of the foundation’s
work and sandbox concept. All arrangements will be made by the Deshpande
Foundation. All relevant fees related to
the program will be paid at the participant’s expense.
Study Abroad Fellowships:
This
program is facilitated through DET over a premeditated term of 3-6 months. Fellows of the program will receive credit through
the Deshpande Foundation where they participate as a fellow of DFP/MSE
programs, respectively. A capstone
project upon program completion is mandatory.

Institutions
will be provided with an invaluable opportunity by offering a hands-on learning
perspective, research opportunites, and mentorship while working directly in
the international development sector.
The Deshpande Foundation will work with academic institutions to
cultivate sustainable partnerships with international lectures, program
curricula and networks. Through this
partnership research related projects will provide high caliber human resource
for networking, guest lectures, and temporary guests for the purpose of sandbox
and program awareness.
